Housing % of Units Built Since 2010, by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — San Francisco Metro

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

Newer housing construction is concentrated in the eastern portions of the metro, particularly in zip codes east of Hayward and around parts of Antioch, where several areas exceed 20–30% of units built since 2010, appearing in bright yellow and green tones. In contrast, San Francisco proper, Daly City, and much of the western Peninsula show very low rates of new construction, with most zip codes below 4%, reflecting the well-documented constraints on infill development in these dense, built-out communities. A notable mid-corridor of moderate new construction (8–16%) stretches through parts of the South Bay toward San Jose, suggesting pockets of greenfield or redevelopment activity interspersed among older housing stock.
