% of Households with Broadband Internet, by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — San Francisco Metro

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

Broadband adoption across the San Francisco metro area is generally high, with most zip codes exceeding 85%, but notable pockets of lower connectivity cluster in parts of East Oakland, sections of eastern San Jose, and select areas south of Daly City, where rates dip into the 60–75% range. The highest saturation—approaching or exceeding 95%—spans much of the suburban East Bay corridor from Concord through Fremont, as well as large swaths of the Peninsula and outer suburbs. This geographic divide suggests that lower broadband penetration aligns with historically lower-income communities, particularly in urban cores and specific South Bay neighborhoods, contrasting sharply with affluent suburban zip codes just miles away.
