Housing Owner-Occupied % of Units, by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — Philadelphia Metro

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

Owner-occupancy rates drop sharply toward the urban core of Philadelphia and Camden, where many zip codes fall below 50%, reflecting the concentration of rental housing in these dense, lower-income neighborhoods. Suburban and exurban zip codes to the northwest, west, and south—particularly areas beyond King of Prussia and in outer Bucks and Chester counties—consistently exceed 80-90% owner-occupancy, forming a distinct yellow ring around the metro. Notably, smaller pockets of low owner-occupancy also appear around Norristown, Chester, and Trenton, suggesting localized rental-heavy markets in secondary urban centers outside Philadelphia proper.
