Median Age by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — Washington D.C. Metro

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

Median age skews youngest in the urban core of D.C. and select inner suburban pockets near Alexandria and parts of Prince George's County, where several zip codes fall below 30, likely reflecting concentrations of young professionals and college-age populations. Outer suburban and exurban areas to the northwest in upper Montgomery County and to the northeast display notably higher median ages, with several zip codes exceeding 50–55, suggesting established communities with longer residential tenure. A distinct cluster of high median age also appears near Gaithersburg's northeastern fringe, contrasting sharply with the younger demographics found just to its south along the I-270 corridor.
