Population Non-Hispanic American Indian % by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — North Carolina

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

The highest concentrations of Non-Hispanic American Indian population appear in two distinct clusters: the southwestern mountain region corresponding to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians' Qualla Boundary, where several zip codes exceed 50%, and the south-central Robeson County area home to the Lumbee Tribe, with multiple zip codes also reaching 25–50% or higher. A smaller but notable concentration is visible in the northeastern part of the state, likely aligning with Haliwa-Saponi and other tribal communities in Halifax and Warren counties. The vast majority of North Carolina zip codes fall below 1%, creating a sharp contrast between these Indigenous population centers and the rest of the state.
