Population Non-Hispanic Black % by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — Washington D.C. Metro

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

The eastern portion of the metro area, particularly Prince George's County and southeast D.C., exhibits the highest concentrations of Non-Hispanic Black population, with numerous zip codes exceeding 50% and many approaching or reaching near-100% levels. In stark contrast, the western and southwestern portions of the metro—including much of Fairfax County, Loudoun County, and areas around Tysons Corner and Manassas—register below 10%, creating one of the sharpest east-west racial demographic divides among major U.S. metropolitan areas. Montgomery County displays a moderate gradient, with higher percentages in zip codes closer to D.C. (particularly near Silver Spring and Takoma Park) that taper off moving northwest toward Gaithersburg and beyond.
