Housing Owner-Occupied % of Units, by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — Georgia

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

Owner-occupancy rates across Georgia's zip codes display a clear urban-rural divide, with the lowest concentrations (below 50%) clustered tightly in the Atlanta metropolitan core, as well as in smaller urban centers like Augusta, Macon, Savannah, and Albany, where renter-heavy housing markets dominate. Suburban and exurban zip codes ringing Atlanta—particularly to the north and east—exhibit markedly higher ownership rates in the 80–90% range, forming a yellow-green band around the metro's dark interior. Rural south-central and southwest Georgia present a more heterogeneous pattern, with pockets of very low ownership interspersed among moderate-to-high ownership areas, likely reflecting the influence of college towns, military installations, and economically distressed communities.
