U.S. Citizens (% of Population Over 18) by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — Washington D.C.

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

Zip codes in the southeastern quadrant of D.C., particularly east of the Anacostia River, display the highest U.S. citizenship rates among adults, reaching near 100%, consistent with predominantly native-born Black communities in Wards 7 and 8. In contrast, the northwest corridor—especially areas around Columbia Heights, Adams Morgan, and parts of upper Northwest—registers notably lower citizenship percentages in the 80–90% range, reflecting higher concentrations of foreign-born residents. A few small zip codes near the downtown core and Dupont Circle area dip below 80%, likely corresponding to neighborhoods with significant immigrant populations from Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
