U.S. Citizens (% of Population Over 18) by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — San Francisco Metro

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

Zip codes in the eastern and southern periphery of the metro—particularly around Antioch, parts of eastern Contra Costa County, and outer San Jose—tend to display higher U.S. citizenship rates (95–100%), while central urban corridors stretching from Oakland through central San Jose consistently register some of the lowest rates (75–80%), likely reflecting concentrated immigrant populations. A notable contrast exists within San Jose itself, where adjacent zip codes shift sharply from deep purple (under 80%) to bright yellow (near 100%), suggesting highly localized demographic variation. Daly City and Richmond also stand out as lower-citizenship-rate clusters on the western side of the bay, distinct from surrounding higher-rate suburban areas.
