Population Non-Hispanic White % by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — Tennessee

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

The western portion of Tennessee, particularly the Memphis metropolitan area, exhibits the lowest Non-Hispanic White population percentages in the state, with several zip codes falling below 20%, reflecting the city's predominantly Black population. A stark east-west gradient is evident, as the eastern two-thirds of the state—especially the Appalachian counties and rural areas of East and Middle Tennessee—are overwhelmingly yellow, indicating Non-Hispanic White percentages above 90%. Secondary pockets of lower percentages appear around Nashville in the central part of the state and to a lesser extent near Knoxville and Chattanooga, corresponding to the state's other major urban centers with more diverse populations.
