Household Median Income by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — Philadelphia Metro

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

Household median incomes in the Philadelphia metro follow a pronounced urban-suburban gradient, with the lowest incomes (below $30,000) concentrated in the urban cores of Philadelphia, Camden, Chester, and Trenton, while outer suburban zip codes in Chester, Montgomery, and Bucks counties frequently exceed $125,000. The western and northwestern suburbs—particularly the corridor from King of Prussia through upper Montgomery County—form a broad band of high-income zip codes, contrasting sharply with the cluster of deep poverty immediately north and west of Center City Philadelphia. Notable pockets of affluence also appear along the New Jersey side northeast of Trenton, while Camden stands out as one of the lowest-income areas in the entire metro alongside Chester.
