Population Non-Hispanic Black % by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — Houston Metro

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

The highest concentrations of Non-Hispanic Black residents, exceeding 50%, cluster in zip codes immediately south and northeast of downtown Houston, forming a distinct corridor that aligns with historically Black neighborhoods such as Third Ward, Sunnyside, and Acres Homes. Surrounding suburban areas including Katy, League City, Friendswood, and much of the western and southeastern periphery register well below 10%, creating a sharp urban-suburban contrast. Notable mid-range concentrations (20–40%) appear in a transitional band stretching from the Sugar Land area northward through central-west Houston, as well as in scattered zip codes north of The Woodlands.
