Hispanic population concentrations are highest in the central Piedmont region, particularly in zip codes around the Duplin-Sampson county area in the southeastern interior, where several zones exceed 40-50%. A secondary cluster of elevated Hispanic percentages appears in the northern Piedmont near the Triad and Triangle metro areas, with scattered pockets of 20-30% throughout the agricultural heartland. The mountainous western region, Outer Banks, and much of the rural northeastern coastal plain consistently register among the lowest Hispanic population shares, generally below 5-10%.
