Population Non-Hispanic Black % by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — Iowa

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

The Non-Hispanic Black population in Iowa is heavily concentrated in a few urban centers, with the highest percentages (15–25%+) clustered in zip codes within the Waterloo–Cedar Falls metro area in northeast-central Iowa, as well as portions of Des Moines, Davenport–Quad Cities, and Sioux City. The vast majority of the state's rural zip codes register at or near 0%, creating a stark urban-rural divide in racial composition. Secondary but notable concentrations appear in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, and Council Bluffs, though at lower percentages than the Waterloo core, which stands out as the single most prominent cluster on the map.
