Population Non-Hispanic Black % by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — Louisiana

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

Zip codes with the highest Non-Hispanic Black population shares (exceeding 50%) concentrate heavily in the northeast delta region along the Mississippi River corridor and in urban cores such as Shreveport, Monroe, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans. In contrast, the southwestern Acadiana region and many rural areas of central-western Louisiana display markedly lower percentages, often falling below 10%, reflecting the region's historically Cajun and non-Black demographic composition. A pronounced patchwork pattern is visible throughout northern Louisiana, where adjacent zip codes frequently alternate between very high and very low Black population shares, suggesting sharp racial residential segregation at the sub-county level.
