The highest concentrations of post-2010 housing construction appear in the suburban fringes of southeast Michigan, particularly in exurban zip codes southwest of Detroit and in the Ann Arbor–Brighton corridor, where several zones exceed 20% new units. Much of the Upper Peninsula and northern Lower Peninsula display moderate construction rates in the 4–8% range, with a notable bright green outlier in the western UP suggesting a localized development hotspot. Urban cores in Detroit and several mid-state cities show near-zero new construction, creating a stark contrast with their surrounding suburban and exurban zip codes.
