Median Age by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — New Mexico

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

Zip codes in the northwest quadrant of New Mexico—particularly across the Navajo Nation and surrounding areas—display some of the lowest median ages in the state, frequently falling below 30, while scattered rural zip codes in the northeast and along the southern border trend notably older with median ages exceeding 55. The Albuquerque metro area exhibits considerable internal variation, with university-adjacent and urban core zip codes skewing younger against suburban areas that trend into the 40–50 range. A pronounced cluster of high median ages (55–60+) is visible along the northern tier near the Colorado border and in retirement-oriented communities in the south-central region, contrasting sharply with the youthful demographic signature of tribal lands to the west.
