Bachelor's Degree or Higher (% of Over 25) by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — Washington D.C. Metro

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

The highest concentrations of bachelor's degree holders cluster heavily in the western suburbs of Northern Virginia—particularly around Tysons Corner, McLean, and the Bethesda-Rockville corridor in Montgomery County—where many zip codes exceed 50% attainment. A stark contrast emerges in the southeastern quadrant of the metro, including parts of Prince George's County and areas south of Alexandria, where attainment rates drop to 10–20%, creating one of the sharpest educational attainment gradients in any major U.S. metro. Within D.C. proper, the northwest neighborhoods show significantly higher rates than the southeastern portions of the city, mirroring well-documented socioeconomic divides along the Anacostia River.
