Household Average Size by Zip Code (ZCTA5) — Colorado

NOTE: Gray indicates insufficient data or a suppressed estimate.

Larger household sizes (3.0+) concentrate in the suburban Denver metro fringe—particularly in zip codes north of Denver toward Greeley and in the northern Front Range corridor—as well as scattered areas of the Eastern Plains and the far northeast corner of the state. Mountain resort communities and the central Rockies consistently register among the lowest average household sizes (below 2.0), reflecting high concentrations of seasonal housing, second homes, and smaller household configurations. The southern third of the state, including the San Luis Valley and areas near Trinidad, also trends toward smaller households, contrasting sharply with the yellow-coded high-growth suburban zip codes along the I-25 corridor.
